7 Reasons to have a go at Geocaching

What is Geocaching ?

With our recent launch of some new products for Geocoin Storage , and our article How About this for a cache for Geocoins  , it’s time to explain a bit for those unfamiliar with the World of Geocaching.

If you are thinking “What is Geocaching ?” , then you are in the same position I was  few months ago. Geocaching is a  Treasure Hunt game , played by using GPS signals to find a hidden box , or “cache”.  The “treasure” generally takes the form of a few small toys , but can sometimes be trackable Geocoins , small coins with a code which can be entered online to discover not only where the coin has travelled , but also its intended destination.

7 Reasons to have a go at Geocaching

1. It can be a Cheap Day Out. Let’s face it times are tough , and if you want a day out with little expense , why not give it a go. You don’t have to have a GPS specific device , an Iphone or Android is fine, and you can download the app for a one-off fee of about £6. Geocaching  isn’t expensive.

2. It is Fun Having first heard about Geocaching from a customer looking for a storage album for her sons Geocoin collection , I gave it a go with my own children , and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

3. Quality Family Time Away from the stresses of home and work lives , you can spend  time with the people who mean the most to you.

4. It’s Local Well , almost certainly the nearest Geocache isn’t too far away. Despite it being around for only about a decade or so , there are now over 2,000,000 caches around the world. A quick check on my smartphone reveals the closest cache to be about 300 metres away.

5. It is Educational You can learn about nature as you travel around the countryside , or geography as you look at the places where a trackable Geocoin has travelled.

6. It is Exercise and it is also out in

Country Roadthe fresh air. You can often plan a route around a circular walk or cycling route , which will take in a series of Geocaches. For small children , this makes a walk or ride much more interesting.

7. It is on the National Trust list of 50 things to do before you are 11 3/4

Have you ever tried Geocaching ? Did you find anything interesting ?

Item Sold. Our 3 Top tips for selling on your own site

September 23, 2011 Leave a comment

If you are an online retailer , there are no better emails than the ones that start Item Sold. You’ve Sold. Please Dispatch now.

As an ebay seller for over 10 years , we’ve sold a few things , and currently have over 37,000  feedback.  Once you start selling on your own website , its a new game. Here are our 3 biggest tips for success.

  • Accept card payments  Paypal is great for ebay , but once you have your own site , your buyers aren’t all ebayers any more , they need more options.
  • Add a Telephone Number Not having a number shown on ebay can and often does work well , but once you have your own website your customers may need additional reassurance.
  • Outsource This should probably be the number 1 tip. Ever. Don’t try and do everything yourself , you can’t and its foolish to try.
